70,s Sailor.
I joined the Navy in Sept, 1972. I was burned out from 5 or 6 years on the road during the late 60's and no prospect's. I had always been running from the 30 year career at TCI and 5 kids. I was flunking out of UAB because of excess partying (God the Age of Free Love was indeed a beautiful Age). My Naval recruiter had informed me that there was an F. B. I. Rough sheet on me from from a time when I was arrested for drugs in Atlanta, at the age of 18, but that's another story. There were no felony's though so he said I could sign some waivers and "never worry about it again". After what seemed a large stack of waivers, I was off to Orlando for 8 weeks.
